About 10 percent are installed in colleges, universities, and the occasional public auditorium, and about 5% are installed in private residences. 2 The American Theatre Organ Society was organized in 1955, and has grown into an international society of more than 5,000 members. There are over 60 chapters in the United States and foreign countries.3 The ATOS radio program, Theatre Pipes, is available at no cost, to local radio stations for broadcast in their service area.
