A matched set of pieces for the stereo chapel instrument

The Kendall Chapel combo is a stereo (dual channel) system that combines the Accent 10 speakers with the Accent Base sub woofers and Ambience 5 systems for discrete reverb. The Accent 10 speakers provide a 10" woofer a 5" mid range cone and round ribbon driver in a furniture enclosure. The Accent Base sub woofer provides a 10" woofer in a box tuned for rich pedal tones. The Ambience 5 speakers provide a 5" woofer and ribbon tweeter in a compact unit.

The Accent and Ambience speakers use premium internal passive crossovers. These can be connected directly to the appropriate amplifiers. The same signal amplified for the Accent 10 speakers would be split and processed by a digital reverb unit. The effected signal would then be amplified separately and routed to the Ambience 5 speakers. This provides the most realistic response for reverberation. The Accent Bass sub woofers are designed to use a precision external active crossover. The low frequency output from the crossover then feeds to a dedicated amplifier which in turn connects to the sub woofers. This arrangement maximizes the performance and control of the low frequency system.

J.A. Kendall was the teacher who introduced me to the world of organs. His custom home installation of an analog Rodgers instrument, sparked a lot of interest. He introduced me to the music of Virgil Fox and the Black Beauty touring organ while I was in high school. This package of speakers are named in his honor. The picture above is me at the famed Black Beauty console. I got to play BB when it was in the home of H. Littman back in 1988. -GJ
