Palace Theatre Package System

A matched set of pieces for the stereo home theatre instrument

The Palace Theatre combo is a four channel system that combines Accent speakers with the Traverse Base sub woofers and Ambience systems for discrete reverb. This arrangement is intended to complement a Hauptwerk virtual organ arrangement. A group of four Accent 6 speakers shall be placed for two matched pairs of speakers for either chromatic or dichromatic pipe arrangements. A pair of Traverse Base speakers shall be placed for reproducing the lowest tones created by pedal ranks and extension of the manual ranks.

The Accent 6 speakers provide a 6" woofer and rectangular ribbon driver in a deluxe enclosure. The Traverse Base sub woofer provides a 15" woofer in a box tuned for rich pedal tones and 16' rank extensions. The Ambience 5 speakers provide a 5" woofer and ribbon tweeter in a compact unit.

The Accent and Ambience speakers use premium internal passive crossovers. These can be connected directly to the appropriate amplifiers. The Traverse Base sub woofer uses an precision external active crossover. The low frequency output from the crossover then feeds to a dedicated amplifier which in turn connects to the sub woofer. This arrangement maximizes the performance and control of the low frequency system.

A combined mix of the four separate channels would be prepared as a dedicated stereo signal for an artificial reverberation system. This stereo mix would be processed with a digital reverb unit. The effected signal would then be amplified separately and routed to the Ambience 5 speakers. This provides the most realistic reverberation.
