Our Sub Woofer Design Protocols

The speakers provided by Organ Expressions are diligently designed in tandem with Concert Systems LLC. The following paragraphs provide insight into the protocols used in the design practices for the sub woofer and pedal division speakers offered by Organ Expressions.

Concert Systems LLC  provides advanced proprietary subwoofer enclosures with numerous designs employing 10, 12, 15, 18 and 21 inch loudspeakers in single, dual and quad cone configurations. Many of these designs integrate readily in difficult architectural spaces such as crawl spaces, organ chambers and underneath prosceniums, concealing potentially large cabinets and optimizing valuable floor space.

Models with Low Diffraction Acoustic Coupling™ or LDAC™ employ a dual-tuned configuration that increases the tonal character in the 30 cps to 200 cps low frequency range. Sensitivity is raised by the careful selection of specific loudspeakers for this application, and through strategic vent tuning and placement translating into increased dynamics, energy and power  and low frequency sound.

Models with Asymmetrical Vent Loading™ or AVL™ employ a dual-tuned single bandpass configuration with non-parallel surfaces that smooth response characteristics, minimize standing waves and destructive resonance in both the host chamber and the vent(s), reducing distortion throughout the operating range. Increased fidelity and extended bass below 40Hz through strategic vent tuning and placement translates into greater depth or ‘dimension’ in the lowest octaves where air movement is more seismic activity than sonic activity.

The basis of our LDAC™ and AVL™ proprietary designs stem from over three decades of experience designing, building, and transporting large and small format vented, horn-loaded and band-pass enclosures. We possess considerable insight about the physical and acoustical relationship bass reinforcement has with the air volume and surfaces in the performance environment and can assist our clients in establishing guidelines for the quantity and positioning of the subwoofers employed in their system. We also stress the importance of correctly processing, powering and operating completed systems. Specific filter parameters are suggested for each enclosure to assure optimum performance and long term reliability.

The greatest advantage Concert Systems LLC maintains over other manufacturers is the ability to select loudspeakers and components produced by the finest and most respected audio transducer manufacturers in the world. This translates into very few, if any limitations when designing and packaging enclosures based on size or loudspeaker compliment.  Transducers, components and hardware employed in every Organ Expressions proprietary design are selected specifically for their quality, efficiency, durability and sound characteristics. The primary manufacturers of loudspeakers we have chosen for use in our cabinet designs include B&C, Beyma, Electro-Voice, Eminence, JBL, Martin Audio, and Selenium.

LDAC,AVL, Low Diffraction Acoustically Coupled and Assymetrical Vent Loading are Trademarks of CONCERT SYSTEMS, LLC.
